On arrival in Sri Lanka you will be met and assisted by our airport representative, who will direct you to your very own chauffeur who will transfer you to the Sigiriya. Once you check in at your hotel relax and recover from any jet lag. If you have spare time your chauffeur will introduce you to the sights and sounds of Sigiriya.
After your Breakfast leave early morning Climb Sigiriya rock “Fortress in the Sky” built in the 5th century A.D by king Kasyapa who was a patricide (Sigiriya Claimed as the 8th wonder in the world), see the water garden, bolder garden, world famous Paintings, Mirror wall, Lion’s paws, The swimming pool on top. This is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance the fortress. Within its triple – matted defense the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 500ft.
We have an interesting excursion available in Sigiriya, in the form of a traditional bullock cart ride and village tour. This maximum three hour program is designed for you to experience the real traditional Sri Lankan rural village style, where you will travel in a Bullock cart to a rural village through lush green paddy fields where you will be served tea and ” juggery” along with lunch made to authentic Sri Lankan style. Traditional cooking methods, and a visit to a paddy field to see how the local farmers protect their crops from the wild animals, will be demonstrated and toddy tapping is a special thing in the village culture. Visitors can get this experience in his village tour. This excursion will be a traditional canoe ride in a lake in Sigiriya. The finale of this excursion has a tuk tuk tour back to the starting point. Total tour is may 8Km ride.Highly recommended as a “must do” activity when you are in Sigiriya to get feel the real Sri Lanka.
Proceed to Habarana, Habarana is a popular tourist destination for safari lovers as it is the starting point for safaris in the nearby Habarana jungle. This is heavily populated by elephants. Elephant back riding is also an attraction in this small city. The area has some of the best hotels in the country and the greenery and wild life has added value, making the location attractive for tourists.
After breakfast leave Sigiriya to Visit Dambulla cave temples (Built by King Walagamba in the 1st century B.C with 22000 square feet’s of ceiling paintings), Dambulla city also boasts to have the largest rose quartz mountain range in South Asia, and the Iron wood forest, or Namal Uyana. Ibbankatuwa prehistoric burial site near Dhambulla cave temple complexes is the latest archaeological site of significant historical importance found in Dambulla, which is located within 3 kilometers of the cave temples providing evidence on presence of indigenous civilisations long before the arrival of Indian influence on the Island nation
After sightseeing tours continue to the town of Kandy. En route visit a *Spice Garden in Matale to see the different spices, Which Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and show how some of these spices are grown, processed and you can learn of their medicinal healing properties and how to use them in your day to day needs. Used worldwide in many medicines, the healing powers of spices have been respected from the time of the Pharaohs and Chinese Dynasties, while our herbs are used in Ayurvedic concoctions.
Afterward head on to the bustling hill capital of Kandy. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site since 1988 it was the last capital of the Sinhala Kings. You will check in at your hotel on arrival and once you are rested, continue on to your tour of Kandy. In the evening you will visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, and later enjoy the Kandyan Cultural show at the Kandyan Arts & Cultural Centre. The show features the graceful and rhythmic dancers and drummers culminating in an impressive fire walking display.
After breakfast leave for Pinnawala to visit the Elephant orphanage. This orphanage was set up by the government to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild.
After sightseeing tours continue to the heart of Tea Country, Nuwara Eliya (1868 meters above the sea level), Nuwara Eliya supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. En-route visit the famous Ramboda Waterfall , Sri Lankan tea plantation and a working tea factory, and also experience a self-tea plucking session.
After breakfast leave for Kitulgala a small town perched on the hills that slope down to the flowing waters of the Kelani River.The main attractions include white water rafting, trekking and the Kelani Forest Reserve a popular bird watching location. Enjoy a thrilling day of white water rafting
On completion leave for Negombo, If you have spare time you can take in the sights of the Fishing Village, or alternatively indulge in some shopping.
Now that you are at the end of your journey with us, your chauffeur will comfortably take you to the international airport in time for your departure flight.
